Professional Services
Agile
DVT integrated Agile as an approach to software development at a early stage in its evolution in South Africa. We currently utilize Agile on a number of projects with various clients and are able to advise, consult and deliver using Agile/Scrum techniques.
Business Analysis
DVT retains a core competency of business analysis with active competency owners and a consistent set of tools and techniques. Business analysis is a crucial component of our software delivery cycle, and central to our software development approach. We also offer the competency as a stand-alone service for clients that need professional business analysis undertaken as a precursor to any significant business project. Our business analysts typically have a technical or business background, have been professionally trained, and are often certified by a professional organization with an industry recognised qualification.
Project Management
Our project managers are typically experienced practitioners with a proven track record. We use a mix of personal style and a proven approach. Individual project managers are experienced enough to decide on the mix and use of methodology and less formal methods. However we will adopt any given methodology for the duration of a project or assignment if stipulated by our client.
All delivery skills of software development, business analysis, and project management are considered equally important. Our project managers are asked to collaborate and communicate reasons and rationale rather than trying exercise command and control techniques. Nevertheless, project managers are responsible for their projects and have to make sure they act in a responsible and forthright manner that facilitates successful delivery.
Systems Support
An integral part of software development is the ongoing cost of ownership, overall responsibility, and support for software applications.
DVT provides a specialist support function to clients who delegate management and enhancement of software and related services. This could include monitoring, service level agreements; retainers, specialist technical support and current domain knowledge.
