Management Team

Chris Wilkins is a founder, CEO and business visionary at DVT. He is an independent, conceptual thinker and a great believer in the power of energy and the human spirit.

Chris has spent over eleven years at the helm of DVT, and fourteen years as an entrepreneur and founder of businesses. He spent nine years working and travelling in Europe, the UK and the Middle East, and has performed a range of roles from Software Developer to CEO within the software and related services sector.

Chris has over twenty years industry experience, a tertiary education, and a number of shorter courses to his name.

Jacques has extensive experience in the financial services industry. His career spans over 17 years of which the last 9 years have been in the end to end management of strategic systems/technology projects and programmes with reputable local and international financial institutions.

Jacques' core strength lies in his solid understanding of both business and technology and he easily crosses over between the two disciplines. He is experienced in a variety of project methodologies, follows a systematic approach to programme and project management and has the ability to identify synergies, spot opportunities and create value for the organisation.

Graham has 18 years experience in financial management, including 9 as a financial director in the IT industry.

Graham graduated in 1990 and completed his articles with G.J. Bazley & Co. He was financial manager of Zotos Construction with sole responsibility for finance and operations in the group, which gave him a solid grounding in a sometimes very challenging project-orientated environment.

In 1999 Graham joined Software Futures as financial manager and was later appointed as financial director. He formed part of a dynamic team of entrepreneurs who managed the company through a series of mergers and acquisitions, growing it to be one of the largest in South Africa in its field.

Jaco has more than 15 years IT experience in the field of application development and has been involved in the architecture, design and construction of various size software development projects, some of which were in the utilities, financial and insurance industries.

He has managed software development teams in excess of 150 professionals

Jaco holds a doctor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Johannesburg and has focused his Ph.D. research on object orientation and information security. He has presented and published papers on object-oriented software development, information security and web services at local and international events.

Futhi started out in IT and after spending several years in a large corporate, was keen to get back into the IT industry.

Spending time in both small to medium and large business concerns has given him a balanced perspective on a business's key focus areas.

His experience in the management of the IT company finances during high and low industry growth periods has taught him the importance of running a lean and efficient operation. Futhi holds a BCom (Hons) degree and is currently the Financial Manager at DVT.

Jenny is an IT professional with extensive experience in the IT industry. She has been employed with strategic companies in the Retail industry for the past 20 years.

She has extensive experience in IT management, project management, and the entire systems development lifecycle. As an Account Manager at DVT, Jenny is able to leverage the knowledge and skills she has accumulated over the years to contribute and add value in any IT or business related function.

Jenny holds a BA degree in Economics and Psychology as well as Honours degree in Information Systems from the University of Cape Town.

Izak has more than 10 years experience in the IT industry, mostly gained as Business Analyst in financial services. He is passionately devoted to the implementation of solutions that will satisfy distinctive business needs, whether by means of technology or business process improvement.  His commitment to find sound and practical solutions has enabled him to deliver a number of highly successful IT projects over the years. The experience gained from these deliveries, combined with his strong belief in the value that people and their diversities can add to business success, equipped him adequately for his role as account manager at DVT Cape Town. As account manager he plays a key role in maintaining a high level of client service, employee satisfaction as well as extending the business of DVT.

Izak has a diploma in Business Analysis and Project management and has successfully completed a number of IT related courses.

Kevin holds a BSc Honours, a Master's degree in Educational Software Development and a Diploma in Software Project Management with over 14 years of software development experience (including development management, operations and project management). His experience has been accrued mainly in consulting, architecture, professional services and systems delivery for projects in commercial web development, government, telecommunications, construction, logistics and payment systems.

Kevin's key role includes new business development and key account management for: solutions projects, outsourcing, strategic partnerships, bespoke development, professional services and project management talent sourcing.

Kevin is currently completing his final year Masters in Business Leadership specializing in Executive Project Management, E-Business Management and Productivity Management.

Jake serves as a member of the DVT management team in Gauteng focussing on Delivery as well as Account management. Starting his career initially in software development, his IT experience spans 20 years with exposure in various market sectors including the wholesale, retail, banking, petroleum and ticketing industries.

Jake has successfully lead various IT teams over the past 10 years delivering on a variety of small, medium and large turn-key application development projects for major corporate companies in South Africa. 

Chris holds a BCom (Economics) degree and started out his career as a market risk analyst in the investment banking community and since his formative working years, has been passionate about the role people and technology play in unlocking business value. With over 10 years IT experience he has progressed through the ranks holding positions such as developer, business analyst, project manager and software development manager. His varied experience in the application development includes treasury, banking, insurance and pharmaceutical system implementations. 

Chris manages the outsourced solutions delivery business in DVT Gauteng. He also applies himself to new business development, and injects thought leadership in various technology disciplines.

Laura has extensive experience in software implementations, system migrations, process reengineering and implementation of business change initiatives having fulfilled various roles across the software development lifecycle. She has over 10 years experience working as a vendor to deliver ERP solutions, as well as a further 10 years consulting independently  to understand business requirements, define and implement business solutions to achieve operational success.

Laura now heads the Supplementary Resourcing Business Unit within the Cape Region where she is able to fulfill her love and passion for people, personal development & aligning individuals to their desired professional journey. She is focusing on meeting & harnessing the skills and energy of high end individuals &matching them to the work opportunities that ensure both DVT and her clients meet their professional objectives. She remains a catalyst for change to bring about environments that are conducive for sustainable delivery success.

Johan Pieters is an IT consultant with extensive experience in project management, software delivery management, account management and business analysis.  Johan has a B.Eng degree from the University of Stellenbosch, a Masters Degree in Business Leadership through the University of South Africa School for Business Learning and a Diploma in Datametry through the University of South Africa.

He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience around a variety of business domains, and a pragmatic approach to the delivery of IT solutions to business problems. He is a true generalist that is comfortable playing an Account Management, Project Management, Program Management or General Management role. Johan's strength lies in the fact that he is able to bring appropriate structure to unstructured environments.

Mario heads up the Software Quality Assurance Business Unit within the Cape Region, which he started in 2009. His passion for software testing and test automation drives him to find resources and tools to assist industry in delivering better quality software.  A strong focus is put on using open source test automation tools to assist with defining automation strategies. 

With more than 8 years of experience in software testing, he sees himself as a career tester.  Mario holds a BTech IT degree in addition to his National Diploma IT (Cum Laude).  He is also a certified Scrum Master. 

The value and contribution new young talent can make to the industry is one of the driving forces behind his business unit.
